On October 18th, 2025, the Jesuit Refugee Service Canada (JRS) organized a hike on Mount Royal for the refugees we sponsor. About twenty people participated.
It was a wonderful day to meet, relax, and share. We left from Beaver Lake and set off on our walk through the wooded trails, surrounded by the magnificent fall colors.
The arrival at the lookout point was met with great enthusiasm: everyone enjoyed the splendid view of downtown Montreal and captured the moment in photos.
Once at Beaver Lake, we shared a convivial meal, followed by a few group activities and games that helped to reinforce the joy and camaraderie of the group.

A particularly moving moment was the discovery that some of the families present had once lived on the same street in their country of origin, without ever having met before. This coincidence stirred up strong emotions and gave special resonance to our theme: “Meeting at the other end of the world.”
This day will remain etched in our memories as a true moment of communion, friendship, and gratitude.
